Water fountains throughout the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) building were spewing geysers of darkly colored and foul smelling sludge.
Vice.com reports that a disturbing spectacle greeted employees at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) last week. Water fountains throughout the building were spewing geysers of darkly colored and foul smelling sludge. The incident can be viewed as a dystopian ode to Disney’s trademark “World of Color” water and light show. Where Disney’s legendary fountain show celebrates their goal of providing entertainment, the EPA’s sludge explosion is emblematic of their failure to protect the most basic necessity for life: potable water.
For years the EPA has signed off on and championed the contamination of drinking water supplies with fluoride. Fluoride may not turn water into a viscous sewage slurry, but this toxic chemical has no more business in drinking water than the filth that flooded the EPA’s halls. The sewage geyser’s epicenter was near the office of EPA administrator Scott Pruitt and several fountains were impacted. The cause was said to be a water line backup.
The EPA’s historic defense of fluoride collapses quickly upon examination. The vast majority (97 percent) of Western Europe has rejected water fluoridation. In fact, most countries fluoridate neither their water nor their salt, but according to the World Health Organization (WHO), tooth decay in 12-year-olds is coming down as fast, if not faster, in non-fluoridated countries as it is in fluoridated countries. The amount of fluoride now regularly consumed by millions of Americans exceeds the doses repeatedly linked to IQ loss and other neurotoxic effects.
Promoting the contamination of drinking water with fluoride is not the EPA’s only failing. According to a scientific advisory panel convened to evaluate the EPA’s lax stance on glyphosate, the agency appears to have violated its own guidelines by discounting data from studies linking the pesticide to cancer. Court filings reveal correspondence from a former EPA scientist who accuses EPA officials of corrupting science to favor pesticide manufacturers, stating “It is essentially certain that glyphosate causes cancer.”
Halting the introduction of fluoride into the drinking water and glyphosate into the environment should be priorities of the EPA. Clean pure water is a prerequisite to optimal health. Industrial chemicals, drugs and other toxic additives really have no place in our water supplies. Until the EPA gets their priorities straight, you can protect yourself by only consuming non-GMO foods.
The putrid sludge deposited on the floor of the EPA building by their drinking fountains was far removed from the revitalizing water that your body requires, but the water is suspect in its own right due to fluoridation. The obvious solution is to filter all the water that comes into the house, and then filtering it again at the kitchen sink and shower. An even more healthful solution is to consume living water. Energized water can recharge your mitochondria, and deep springs are one excellent source. You can also promote structured water through vortexing or cooling it to 39 degrees Fahrenheit. Reverting tap water back into a vitality boosting element can provide enormous health benefits.
It’s Time to Care About What You Wear
If you don’t think that what you wear has an impact on the environment, it’s time to get your facts straight. The clothing industry is now the second largest polluter in the world. They are contaminating our soil, polluting our water on a global scale and decimating marine life. To make matters worse, nonorganic cotton may expose you to potentially heavy doses of toxins.
Thanks to SITO and Dirt Shirt, you can look great and promote environmentally friendly clothing. Dirt Shirt is a fashionable line of comfortable and durable organic clothing that is grown and sewn in the US. SITO products provide you an opportunity to support global organic textile production.
Between SITO and Dirt Shirt, we are able to offer you a full line of regenerative fabrics. Both are Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)-certified. All profits from the sales of Dirt Shirt will go to nonprofit organizations like the Organic Consumers Association to support regenerative agriculture.
Please protect yourself and the environment, while supporting regenerative agricultural practices, by participating in our Care What You Wear Campaign. In an interdependent world that is ravaged by environmental degradation, sustainable clothing is the ultimate fashion statement. What do your clothes say about you?
